Status Orange – Wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick
MET Eireann has issued the following wind warning for the Mayo area.
The school will continue to monitor the situation and provide the community with information during the day/evening.
Storm Atiyah (Ah-tee-ya) will track between Iceland and Ireland on Sunday, generating very strong winds across the country. Southwesterly winds, later veering northwesterly, will reach mean speeds between 65 and 80 km/h with gusts between 110 and 130 km/h, possibly higher in exposed coastal areas.
Due to a combination of high seas and storm surge there is a possibility of coastal flooding.
