Sports

St. Patrick’s College has a well-earned and proud sporting tradition. Students are encouraged to take part in sporting activities and school teams have achieved notable successes in a range of sports.

A great measure of this success can be attributed to the dedicated coaches who come to the college to train the teams coupled with the dedication of the many teachers involved.

The wide range of sports offered includes: Basketball, Football, Soccer, Rugby, Athletics, Volleyball and Table Tennis. We look forward to continued success in the future with our state-of-the-art Sports Hall and extensive outdoor facilities.

School Show

At St Patrick’s College, we pride ourselves on the musical talent of our students. Every October, our Transition Year class holds a Talent Competition in aid of selected charity. The group invites entries from neighboring secondary schools as well as our feeder schools to participate. The school show has gone from strength to strength over the past number of years and we have made donations to Childline and Our Ladies Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin. A special thanks to our hard-working Parents Council who help run the event and who have helped to fundraise for equipment such as lighting, sound equipment and curtains for our stage.

Green Schools Programme

Green-Schools is an international environmental education programme, environmental management system and award scheme that promotes whole school action towards a sustainable environment. St Patrick’s College has a very active Green Schools Committee. We have received three flags in total.

We encourage all our students to become involved in our Green Schools Committee and promote the programme through various subject and activities throughout the year. Recent activities include the creation of a small plant garden and the planting of trees at the side of the sports hall.
