The death has occured of former staff member Mr. John Gallagher. John was a teacher at St Patrick’s College. John was a teacher of Mechanical Drawing and Technical Drawing. He was a teacher of exceptional ability, highly thought of by his colleagues and students, who always achieved excellent grades in state examinations.
John joined the teaching staff of the college in 1972 and taught until 1982 when he left to pursue new interests in furniture making with Cortoon Furniture. John was also a keen supporter of the local theatre in Killala, both as a producer/director and an actor.
Funeral details are as folows;
John Gallagher, Bohernasup, Ballina, and formerly of Cortoon, Killala, at Sligo Hospital. (Predeceased by his parents Michael and Bridget, and by his five sisters). Sadly missed by his loving wife Nuala, sons Michael, Neil, Adrian, daughter Fiona (Newcombe), much-loved grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his residence in Bohernasup (F26 X9D3), on Friday from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral arriving to St Patrick’s Church, Killala, on Saturday for requiem mass at 2pm, followed by burial in Killala Cemetery.
